Inspiration: Turning an ugly metal sculpture into a vibrant colorful sculpture with unique designs.
Artistic Process: I found an ugly metal sculpture and my first thought was I can transform this into something gorgeous with glass. It took me a long time to decide on a design. After looking at the sculpture and debating several designs - I got started. I made several glass lace in various colors and then fused each to different background glass keeping the texture of the lace. Once I had the right color combinations, I cut the glass into shapes to match the metal sculpture using my ring saw. These shapes were then fire polished so the sides were shiny. I then installed a glass shape to the equivalent shape on the metal sculpture.
