Artistic Process: In my head, I was designing sky/sunset/sunrise with land/sea as well as hot colors with cold colors. Based on this concept, I designed and cut glass, then dammed the glass to contain it, programmed the kiln to slowly rise to over 1700 degree Fahrenheit then put on protective gear and opened the kiln. After observing the look at how the glass has formed now that its molten, I raked the glass to create a design with more movement of the glass, then the glass was annealed and cooled, coldworked and finished into a design.
It is mounted with a standoff on brushed stainless steel, wired for hanging with welded brackets to keep the artwork flat and straight on the wall with no tilting.
