Inspiration: Ocean Waves and frolicking dolphins
Artistic Process: First I cut various shades of blue and aqua in curvy stripes and laid them out in a wave design around a 7.75" clear circle. I then added bits of glass to make more depth and water look. This was fired in the kiln to leave a lot of texture. I made the dolphin with dichroic glass cutting with a ring saw. This shimmers gold, orange and yellow.
The glass stand is kilnformed into a shape including a slot to support the sculpture with coldworking to ensure the bottom is level and sturdy.
