Inspiration: Enjoying the hummingbirds in our garden at the feeder.
This sculpture has a shimmering colorful ruby throated hummingbird enjoying beautiful flowers. It looks great on its own, in a window or with a candle behind it.
It makes a wonderful gift for a hummingbird lover.
Artistic Process: The background is glass made with transparent glass that iI made to look like the sky and the grass with clear glass on top. The hummingbird was an iridescent clear glass that I then added color too (so it has some interesting shimmer too). The flowers are glass murrini. All were tack fired to the background.
The glass is inserted into a "clamp that is adjustable to keep it tight on a clear acrylic stand.
