The background is an abstract kilnformed glass art includes various shades of greens in glass that was ground fine and mixed with a medium and poured in a design on top of piece of glass a bit of copper mica was also added, Gai oil was dripped to create additional interest. The glass was then fired in the kiln to use heat and manipulation to form blended colors and crackles of texture.

The 3 small monarch butterflies and the 3 red and orange Imperial Dragon hibiscus along with a bee and ladybug are added with stand-offs and rare-earth magnets -- they are now flying and their reflections show on the background in the right light. This also allows for easier shipping and installing
