This bowl is food safe and a perfect size for meals, serving side dishes and more. Its also a beautiful bowl to display when not using.
Artistic Process: This bowl was made by cutting 1 layer of clear glass into a circle and placing it inside a stainless steel round mold as a dam to contain the glass. various sizes of red, yellow, black and white glass was strategically placed in a bowl shaped ceramic mold with specifically placed holes in it. This is placed above the circle on kiln furniture. The kiln is fired to higher temperatures so that the glass flows through the holes creating swirls and patterns as it "lands" on the glass circle. After the glass anneals, I cold work the edges smooth and then fire polish it in the kiln. The final step was to form into the shape of an organic wavy deep bowl.
