Dichroic Mosaic on Green Transparent Music Note Sculpture
A mosaic of various dichroic glass are carefully put together on a background of green transparent glass. The first step was to make a temporary mold of a music note, then to fill the bottom with green glass, then arrange the cut up pieces of various dichroic glass through out the music note shape in the mold and then put clear glass on top of the dichroic glass. The glass is then fired to cast into the mold. After that firing, I ground smooth all the edges and then it was fire polished in the kiln. The music note is epoxied to a stand that was made by cutting three pieces for varying sizes and tack fusing them into the stand.

Making music notes was inspired while I was playing the piano. I was learning a new piece that was complex for me. The music notes were staring back at me. All of a sudden, I started thinking about the concept of a music note sculpture. I immediately went to my studio to test out the idea and continue to refine the design as well as creating various color patterns.
