Blue and Vanilla Bud Vase

Steel Blue and Vanilla Bud Vase  Beautiful addition to any home decor.  This vase makes a special, unique, artisan made gift. 

The artistic process:  I start by combining the colors I want in a thick round shape and fusing together.  That piece is placed on a round ring that is elevated above the kiln floor.  The kiln is programmed to heat to certain temperatures where I watch as the glass slowly drops through the inside of the rim until it touches the kiln floor, I then flash cool to annealing temperatures.  Once it is fully annealed and cooled, I cut the top rim of glass off with a tile saw  then grind and polish the top to a smooth finish.
