This vase has patterns of blues and lemongrass green with a rim. It will be a beautiful and unique addition to any home décor. It also makes a special, unique, artisan made gift.
The artistic process: I started by combining blues and lemongrass greens into a pattern and firing them together in a thick form. Then added ground glass along the edges and fired to a tack fuse to create the lacy rim. The final step was to drape the glass over a stainless steel cone shape to create this unique shaped vase. This requires precision placement and opening the kiln once it hits a certain temperature to watch the progress and flashing cooling once its draped the way I want.
