The first step was cutting multiple layers of different glasses with shards of glass on top in a specific pattern inside a stainless steel round mold as a dam to contain the glass. Using a specific program to ramp up and hold the heat in the kiln to spread and stretch the glass to create a unique design. After coldworking the edges, I then cut 3 interesting complementary circles of 3 different glasses of a larger diameter as the base and a circle of clear glass for the top into the kiln to create more depth in design while also stretching the glass larger.
