This Drape Vase is a beautiful addition to any home decor. It makes a special, unique, artisan made gift. It shines and reflects in the light too!
The artistic process:The first step was cutting multiple layers of different glasses in shades of blues and white on top of multiple steel rods over a stainless steel elongated traingle steel dam to contain the glass as it melts After firing to melt the glass into creative patterns. Using a hammer to break up the thick bar to show all the patterns and create many pieces. Next I laid the pieces into a design on top of aventurine blue sparkling glass and fired in the kiln using a specific program to ramp up and hold the heat in the kiln to spread and stretch the glass to create a unique design. After coldworking the edges, I then added clear glass on top and aventurine blue on bottom to stretch out the design with heat in the kiln creating a gorgeous sparkling blue for the inside.
The final step was to drape the glass over a stainless steel cone shape to create this unique shaped vase. The bottom is ground to create a smooth stable bottom for display
