My inspiration: creating small scenes that are embedded in thick glass. Making the glass thick in an unusual shape for depth and interest. Small so there are lots of options for displaying including on a desk.
Blue Dragonflies among the Lilypads in a glass sculpture
Artistic process: Casting glass in layers to create a design with depth and dimension with inclusions of casted dragonfly, lilypads and lilies. The embedded dragonfly's wings were very faint as they are translucent with shimmering bits of color so I added a new blue dragonfly above it -- thought that matched natural observations of 2 dragonflies.... so I added one lily flower on top for extra dimension too.
The bottom is ground to ensure a flat surface.
Dimensions (approximate): 4" tall x 5" wide x 1.5"deep
