Kilnfired Glass art sculpture
Inspiration: inspired by the beautiful water features and koi ponds during the Greater Kansas City Water Garden Society's tours. The koi swim deep and come up when the hope for food. The Lilly pads keep them shaded and a bonus is lotus in bloom. It was also fun to see turtles swimming along with the koi.
Artistic Process: The Koi fish lily pads, and turtles are kiln-casted. The lily pads are made with modeling glass. All were tack fused to a background of blue transparent background. Which is installed to a black metal portal frame and part of the metal sculpture. . The bottom is black felt.
Dimensions: 9.5" wide x 10.5" tall x 3.25" deep
