Sunset Music Note Sculpture
4.75" tall x 2" wide x 1.5" deep
Different shades of reds, yellow and oranges into patterns that remind me of the sunset. the glass design was made by combining colors into patterns then fused in the kiln, then the music notes was cut out of this glass with a ring saw. After that firing, I ground smooth all the edges and then it was fire polished in the kiln. The music note is epoxied to a stand that was made by cutting three pieces for varying sizes and tack fusing them into the stand.
Making music notes was inspired while I was playing the piano. I was learning a new piece that was complex for me. The music notes were staring back at me. All of a sudden, I started thinking about the concept of a music note sculpture. I immediately went to my studio to test out the idea and continue to refine the design as well as creating various color patterns.
