Kilnfired Glass art sculpture

Inspiration:  inspired by sea turtles.  They are fascinating underwater.  The risk of  going to the beach to hatch their young and then get them to sea and back home is amazing to think about. 

Artistic Process: The sea turtles are kiln-casted.  The glass background is made with multiple colored glass with ground glass to make the sand and waves textured.  The turtles were tack fused to the background. Which was installed to a wooden portal frame which is part of the sculpture.  The bottom is black felt.

Dimensions:  Glass - 7" dia.  Portal frame: 10" dia; Overall: 12" wide x 12" tall x 4" deep
