Sun Lovin'

Inspiration:  Loving seeing the sun after a cloudy day... 

The warm colors of yellows and reds represent the warm sunshine.  The array of vibrant colors in the shape of a heart add texture and a story.  The sculpture stands on its own and looks great front or back lit (from a window or candle sitting on its. base. 

Artistic Process: The background is glass made with various warm shades of yellows, oranges and reds swirled with a clear glass on top for more depth in the movement.  The heart was made with a technique to melt glass while swirling it and shaping it when it is molten.  The heart was tack fired to the background.  The final firing was to form the glass into a shape that stands on its own.
