A home decor vase/vessel with marbled design in blues with blue transparent portions with a lacy rim.
Inspiration: working with greens and creating a marbleized effect. thinking of blue skies.
Artistic Process: First the design, then cutting 2 squares of glass - one blue transparent and one clear. These were fused together. Then lots of measuring and marking for the design which was made with glass powder mixed with water and then combined to create a marbled effect of blues with a bit of white. This design was left to dry and then fired to the background. Then I added ground glass of same colors along the edges and fired to a tack fuse. The final step is to drape the glass over a stainless steel cone shape to create this unique shaped vase.
