Kilnfired Glass art sculpture
Inspiration: inspired by the beautiful water features and koi ponds during the Greater Kansas City Water Garden Society's tours. The koi fish swarm up to the surface when I walked up to the pond, some getting far out of the water and others further down. so fun to watch and relaxing.
Artistic Process: The Koi fish and lilies are kiln-casted. The lily pads are made with modeling glass. All were tack fused to a background of swirls of aqua and dark blue background. Which is installed to the wood portal frame and part of the wood and metal sculpture. The bottom of the wood stand is black felt.
Dimensions: Glass - 7" dia. Portal frame: 10.5" dia; Overall: 12" wide x 12" tall x 4" deep
