This vase is a beautiful addition to any home décor. Perfect for a single bloom or bud. I love to bring in a few rose blooms to enjoy inside and this would be the perfect size for them. This vase makes a special, unique, artisan made gift.
The artistic process: I started by combining glass stringers of red, yellows and blues glass into a design in a thick round shape and fused together then stacked with clear glass and fired to a thick round shape. That piece is placed on a round ring with a hole in center that is elevated above the kiln floor. The kiln is programmed to heat to certain temperatures where I watch as the glass slowly drops through the inside of the rim until it touches the kiln floor, I then flash cool to annealing temperatures. Once it is fully annealed and cooled, I cut the top rim of glass off with a tile saw then grind and polish the top to a smooth finish.
