Inspiration: the peacefulness of being near any body of water and creating a flowing cellular look in the glass.
This beautiful large bowl makes a statement on display. This bowl is food safe and a perfect size for meals, serving side dishes and more. this bowl reflects the light and radiate when on display.
Artistic Process: This bowl was made by cutting multiple layers of different glasses with shards of glass on top in a specific pattern inside a stainless steel round mold as a dam to contain the glass. Using a specific program to ramp up and hold the heat in the kiln to boil, spread and stretch the glass to create a unique design. I then cut a larger circle of pale blue glass to create a back with more depth and fired with an additional clear glass on top while also flowing the glass larger. The final step was to form into the shape of a bowl with a flat bottom.
