Inspired after spending a day enjoying beautiful koi in a lovely water garden.
This bowl is food safe and a perfect size for meals, snacks and more. Its also a beautiful bowl to display when not using.
Artistic Process:
The koi were kilncasted to get texture and depth as well as color.
The bowl was first made by using various green transparent glass with a bit of amber and lots of clear in an 8" round dam inserting the kilncasted koi in the middle and covering them with clear glass. This bowl is extra thick. The dammed glass was then cold worked to make the sides smooth and then kilnformed into an organic wavy bowl shape.
