Kilnformed glass wall art. The background was created with 2 cut half circles of glass and a glass circle on top, fused together to create subtle swirls in the colors. The thin curves were formed into their shape in a separate firing. The center is ground up glass with a bit of dichroic sprinkled on top, after arranging - the final firing in the kiln was to lower tack temperatures to get texture and dimension. The kiln-casted bee and ladybug are installed with rare earth magnets - flying a bit above .
It is mounted with a standoff on brushed stainless steel, wired for hanging with welded brackets to keep the artwork flat and straight on the wall with no tilting.
Dimensions: 12" diameter x 1.75" deep
Curious about the title? Plumeria plants (Plumeria sp), which are also known as Lei flowers and Frangipani, are actually small trees that are native to tropical regions
