A mosaic of various dichroic glass are carefully put together on a background of swirls of black, blue and green. The first step was to make the swirling glass by combining various glass and manipulating the molten glass to get the swirls. This created a large thick glass. I then cut the music note shape using a ring saw. After grinding smooth all the edges, it was fire polished in the kiln. The music note is epoxied to a stand that was made by cutting three pieces of varying sizes and tack fusing them into the stand.

Making music notes was inspired while I was playing the piano. I was learning a new piece that was complex for me. The music notes were staring back at me. All of a sudden, I started thinking about the concept of a music note sculpture. I immediately went to my studio to test out the idea and continue to refine the design as well as creating various color patterns.
