This bowl is food safe and a perfect size for meals, serving side dishes and more. Its also a beautiful bowl to display when not using.
This bowl was made by cutting 1 layer of clear glass into a circle and placing it inside a stainless steel round mold as a dam to contain the glass. various sizes of blues and green glass was strategically placed in a bowl shaped ceramic mold with specific holes in it. This is places above the clear circle on kiln furniture. The kiln is fired to higher temperatures so that the blue and green glass flows through the holes creating swirls and patterns as it "lands" on the clear glass. After the glass anneals, I coldwork the edges smooth and then firepolish it in the kiln. The final step was to form into the shape of a bowl.
